Wondering what’s inside?
multimixer | frontsub1 | Wednesday November 24 2010Mini template system let you easily switch between templates and configure the look and feel of your store in the administration panel. And very soon you will be able to configure “critical” areas of your store (like the front page, the product listing page, the product information page) with just a few clicks. Cut the melon now, try it out.

Hi multimixer/George
How’s things? I posted on OS forums last night about the MTS. Yes, I’m interested in upgrading the look and feel of my store to match the main site. Nut I’m concerned that if I download the template you use, it will mess up what I have already. Can I work on the new MTS template before finally uploading it ‘live’ and exchanging it for what I have already?
I would like to ‘keep’ my current look in case something goes wrong with MTS. Can I change between the two templates? MTS and my current template easily?
Thanks
TJ @ britchops
PS I’m using version 2.3.3 OK.
Cheers
Hi TJ
Mini template system is not the same thing like common templates
First difference is, that it does not modify/replace almost all osCommerce files like common templates do, it affect just very few of the core files
Second is, that it can be switched on and off, in case you don’t want to use it for any reason, you can just disable it from the admin panel. However, there is no danger to “mess up” anything
Third, it is more a system that a template. It’s a flexible base, a framework, that can be configured in various ways. It’s not like common templates that may look nice at first sight, but are very hard to customize. With mini template system you’ll be able to change things easily from within your administration panel
Finally, this all mean, that the store, the code, remain in almost original condition, so you can add any other addons you like, there are no compatibility issues
